MEET MEGHAN DOUCETTE & EMILY SOLLOWS
Your creative sidekicks
We called our business Lemonade Co. because we both started our entrepreneurial journeys with lemonade stands as kids and we wanted to bring that playful, creative, and experimental spirit into our work today. Working with us feels like a tall glass of lemonade on a hot summer day.

How Lemonade Co. Started…
In 2022 Meghan moved onto a quite rural road on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Little did we know we had just became neighbours and soon-to-be friends. We immediately got along because we both care about our community and didn’t feel like we fit into a typical workplace (yes, we both have ADHD and justice sensitivity 😅).
We launched Lemonade Co. together in 2024 to support good causes with great communications and branding. We use our backgrounds in non-profit marketing to make a positive impact.

Hi friend, I’m…
Emily SollowsI use she/her pronouns, I’m a marketing and communications professional with a special love for nonprofit comms.
They say you shouldn't mix business with feelings, but I’ve built my career doing exactly that. I approach every project with curiosity, values, and empathy.
Unfortunately for me, I can't just "do" communications work; I inhabit your world until I know your organization's "why" as deeply as you do. I enjoy both the strategic and execution sides of marketing, whether I’m zooming out to craft a marketing strategy or getting my hands dirty in the daily content creation. I’m here to find the soul behind your business, tell the stories of the people behind it, and build a community around your important work.
I have a formal education in Community Leadership and Journalism, and 10+ years of experience in nonprofit communications.
Fun facts about Em
Born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia: home of the best lighthouse in the province (sorry Peggy).
I used to be a tall ship sailor even though I am extremely prone to seasickness.
As a sensitive soul, I care a lot about almost everything. I love deep conversations, and supporting change from the inside out.
I was a journalist before moving into communications, and have always preferred working in the social impact sector.
I'm a huge bird nerd and I wrote a column in the local newspaper called ‘What the Peck’.
I love poetry and musical theatre. I wrote my first poem on a post-it note when I was three!

Hi friend, I’m…
Meghan Doucette I use she/her pronouns. I’m a brand and website designer who started out in the non-profit world as an Executive Director scrambling to manage an outdated WordPress website and a brand with no strategy behind it.
I saw what happens when you don’t have cohesive design, messaging, and strategy behind your communications — your community doubts your ability to carry out your mission and you struggle to gain support.
Over the last decade, I’ve learned all about creating brand identities and websites that build trust, and attract your ideal clients. That’s why I’ve developed my brand identity and website design packages.
My services were created for non-profits, social impact organizations, and values-led businesses. I include everything you need to develop your brand identity and implement it on a show-stopping website. I give you the visuals that connect with your community and show off your important work.
If your org’s lack of brand cohesion and outdated website are keeping you up at night, let’s work together to create the tools you need to grow your impact.
Fun facts about Meghan
Born in Digby, Nova Scotia. Home of a world renowned scallop fishery. I've never liked seafood.
I'm the proud owner of two bicycles – one acoustic and one electric. I've been using my bikes as a form of transportation for 10+ years and cycle commuting is basically my whole vibe.
I have one arm full of tattoos. They are all stick and poke. I like to get them for the vibes and most of them have no sentimental meaning.
I started my career as an urban planner and once I realized I have ADHD it made sense why everything run by the government felt painfully slow to me and I had to fully pivot careers to something more creative and satisfying.
When I say I'm an anti-capitalist I also mean I'm against genocide, no one is illegal on stolen land, Black lives matter, and trans lives are sacred.
let’s work togetherYour important work deserves to stand out.
We can help you with communications, branding, & website design.
Our Values

Our Values 🍋
What we stand for at Lemonade Co.
We’re a queer, neurodivergent, women-owned business. We reject hustle culture and approach our client relationships with grace and understanding.
We are conscientious of our environmental impact. We travel by bike instead of car when we can, we reduce waste as much as possible, and we use energy efficient heating sources in our homes (which sometimes double as our offices). We believe that our natural world is a deeply healing space and that we must protect it.
We both occupy space as white women who are generally well-resourced and we acknowledge the privileges and opportunities we have based on our position in society. We are committed to ongoing interrogation of our unconscious biases. We are on a life-long journey to unlearn what society has taught us and to forge our own paths.
Lemonade Co is located in Mi’kma’ki; the unceded, unsurrendered, and contemporary land of the Mi’kmaq people. Canada has a history of social exclusion, genocide, and systemic discrimination of Indigenous peoples. The ongoing impacts of this exclusion are felt throughout our shared cultural experiences today.
We commit to take action towards justice for all equity-deserving groups through our work and our personal lives.
