Our Collaboration Process

You can expect a streamlined and thoughtful process when working with Lemonade Co.

  • We start by booking a 30 minute intro call to learn about you and your goals. You can ask us anything during this meeting to make sure we are a good fit for your project.

  • We’ll provide a proposal with some package options for you to select.

You’ll review the packages including the project approach, timeline, and investment. Then you’ll decide which package you want to select and let one of us know. If you need any custom add-ons we will include that in your proposal.

  • Once you’ve decided to move forward, we will send over your contract and first invoice. Most projects are broken into two payments, one up front and one before deliverables are sent at the end of the project. In some cases we can break these into smaller payments for larger projects.

Your initial payment is a non-refundable deposit to hold your space in our calendar.

  • You’ll receive an onboarding package from us with details of our next steps. We set up your client portal in our project management software. We use a platform called Notion to keep track of the project deliverables, due dates, and gather feedback along the way.

We send you a video walkthrough of the client portal explaining how to use it.

  • Before our kick-off call we’ll send you a questionnaire to fill out about your organization. We’ll book a kick-off call where we dive into your strategy, your goals, and your design style. This is where you can share your vision for your project and we’ll take it all in.

  • Depending on the type of project we’re working on with you, we will move forward to developing your deliverables.

For design projects, your package always includes 2 rounds of feedback on all deliverables to make sure we’re getting it just right.

  • Once we’ve received and incorporated your feedback, we’ll package your final files and attach them for you to download in your client portal.

If we’re working on a website project, we’ll handover the completed website at this stage.

  • To close out the project, we’ll provide an off-boarding package with information on how to implement your new assets.

We can also craft an announcement post for social media and help you share your new branding or website with your community!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our availability fluctuates at any given time. We are typically booking 1 - 3 months ahead. If you have a specific project deadline in mind when you’ll need your deliverables, reach out early to book in and secure your spot.

  • Depending on the package you select, you will either receive a 1-page Brand Guideline Sheet or a comprehensive Brand Guide. Both documents come are delivered as a PDF.

The 1-page Brand Guideline Sheet includes just the basics — your logo, band color palette, and brand fonts.

The comprehensive Brand Guidelines document includes your brand’s mission, vision, and purpose, personality, voice, logo suite and incorrect logo usage examples, color palette with color pairing advice, brand fonts and usage advice, and any applicable brand assets like illustrations, brand photography, and how to use your brand assets.

  • Brand strategy is the strategic underpinning that your brand visuals are built off of. When we design your logo, color palette, and brand fonts, we inform that process with your strategy. In the strategy stage of your branding project we develop your:

    • Mission, vision, and values

    • Target audience, audience profiles, audience problems & your solution, and the buyer journey

    • Competitor analysis

    • Competitive advantage

    • Brand voice and personality

By taking a strategic approach to your brand identity, we don’t just make up colors and visuals that we like. We think about how your fonts connect to your organization’s values, we think about how your logo will tell your audience that you can solve the problem they have, and we ensure that your brand sets you apart in your industry.

That’s why all of our branding projects include a brand strategy phase.

  • Unfortunately not. We have chosen to specialize in one hosting platform (Squarespace) and learn that platform really well, rather than learn a little bit about all the platforms. Because we don’t work in other platforms regularly, it wouldn’t be the best use of our time or your resources for us to work on your site.

We can happily refer you to another designer if you’re in this situation.

  • We can definitely support you with updating your Squarespace website.

If your website needs updates to the menu and significant changes to pages or sections, this would likely fall into one of our website packages. You can find package details, including pricing, on our website services page.

If the changes you need are minimal, we can bill hourly.

  • We’ve tried a lot of the website hosting platforms out there and we find Squarespace to be the most user-friendly with the best built-in accessibility features.

We mainly work with non-profits and social impact organizations who we know don’t always have a large comms or IT team in-house. We want the website we hand-over to be as easy as possible for you to make updates yourself, and we don’t want to push you into needing to spend money with us to do regular maintenance on your site. Squarespace keeps it simple for you to take over and manage on your own.

  • We have limited spaces available for social media management. To enquire about ongoing monthly support with your communications materials, fill out our contact form.

  • We typically split up projects this way:

    • Emily leads marketing strategy, Meta ads, and content creation projects.

    • Meghan leads branding and website design projects.

    • For projects that are larger in scope, we may team up and you may get to work with both of us!

    • Occasionally, we may hire a subcontractor to support our core team and provide you with the best service possible.
